The Garden Effect

journal

1 Mar

I just received an email from a friend to pray for a childhood friend whose wife delivered a 1 lb. 15 oz. baby today that was due in May.  Then I read the news of a father who lost his 12-year-old son

News like today’s makes me want to go visit my garden, where little baby plants are coming up, and all seems right in the world.

Even when it’s not really.

The little plants’ (and little children’s, too, I suppose), world is all right as long as they have food & water & protection. I love that simplicity.  So I like to visit growing things (and growing kids) when the world seems too big and I feel too small.

    Hi,
Today when one of my plants dies, I die a little inside, too.
