It happened again. I got my mind focused, prayed, worked on my schedule, created routines, woke to an alarm clock, and….

a wrench was thrown into my plans.

I cleaned it up, said this will not stop me, looked at my index cards onto which was handwritten my new “schedule.” I got focused, and…

a wrench was thrown into my plans.

A bit discouraged, I shook it off and said this will not overwhelm me. I paused to read Pride and Prejudice. I made a nice little snack for our teenage boy and myself. I thought of my schedule, and said, surely, I can do this, and…

a wrench was thrown into my plans.

This will not define me. The devil does not get to win this day.  Though he successfully threw wrenches that thwarted me – including one that I need to do a bit of work to fix – he will not win.

This raging world can get so overwhelming,

So I walk down to the river

Where the troubles, they can’t find me.

Let the waters there remind me,

the sun will be there when we wake
