Looking at America

If you’re not proud of this nation, remove your microscope from the area you’re focusing on, and look at her broadly. No nation has ever helped the world more. We are the lighthouse the world needs. We are proving it is possible to build a Republic. We are the home of the free and the land of the brave. If you are looking at America through a microscope, move yourself away from it and travel. Travel across America and see its mountains, its coastlines, its animals, its deserts and jungles and its people. Take longer than a weekend. Go somewhere you haven’t been; maybe a place you’re afraid of. Visit the tourist spot, that’s fine, but then ask where the locals eat and play. Go there, too. Learn America’s history. Not from the media or from the internet. Learn it from the ones who were there. The ones who wrote books about it and built monuments for it. If you are looking at America through a microscope, do something about what you are seeing. Get offline and help someone.
