everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or half a
day, out in the fields, or with a favourite book, or in a picture gallery
looking long and well at just two or three pictures, or in bed, without the
children, life would go on far more happily for both children and parents.”
Honestly, playing is a little too easy for me, but I love having permission to do it! I agree with Charlotte Mason that a playing mother makes a happier mother. I also agree that it takes courage to “let everything go when life becomes too tense.” Don’t you find that difficult to do?

I was just playing hide and go seek with ds (5) and dd (3). I was hiding in our laundry cupboard in the bathroom. As I sat in that cramped space, with not even enough room to move my shoulders except at an angle, I smelt something terribly stinky in there….it was the dirty laundry that I was sitting on!! You know that awful mildew smell from a wet rag that sits wet for a few days. Anyway, as I sat in that stinky, cramped cupboard hiding from dc, I was HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!! I could hear them talking amongst themselves about where I could be. We all laughed and they loved when I jumped out at them from that laundry cupboard. 🙂
