Our college-age gal left two days ago for a Summer of adventures in Alaska. She’s volunteering in our nation’s national parks and wildernesses. I believe she is the first person of either side of our family – I’m talking generations of Americans! – who has ever stepped foot in Alaska. She is our family’s pioneer.

While she’s away, she and I are working on matching knitting kits. I’m much slower at knitting than she is, so I pulled mine out today to begin working on it.
It gives me peace to know that we’re working on the same knitting project – 4,000 miles apart from each other. I’ll be praying for her with every stitch I make.
